A chuck is a mechanical device used to clamp workpieces on machine tools. A machine tool attachment that uses the radial movement of the movable jaws evenly distributed on the chuck body to clamp and position the workpiece. The chuck generally consists of three parts: the chuck body, the movable jaw and the jaw driving mechanism. The minimum diameter of the chuck body is 65 mm and the maximum is 1500 mm. There is a through hole in the center to facilitate the passage of workpieces or bar materials; the back has a cylindrical or short conical structure and is connected to the end of the machine tool spindle directly or through a flange. The chuck is usually installed on lathes, cylindrical grinders and internal cylindrical grinders. It can also be used with various indexing devices on milling machines and drilling machines.

In order to achieve better accuracy and stability in machine tool processing, the chuck has become an important 'plus point'. There are currently two main categories of chucks on the market: domestic chucks and imported (Taiwan and foreign) chucks. In terms of domestic chucks, Changzhou Bidefu occupies a larger market share. Taiwan's chuck sales account for 60% of the imported chuck market, and South Korea also has a considerable share. Original Japanese, European and American chucks are mid-to-high-end products.

Classification of chucks:

According to the number of chuck jaws, it can be divided into: two-jaw chuck, three-jaw chuck, four-jaw chuck, six-jaw chuck and special chuck. In terms of power, it can be divided into: manual chuck, pneumatic chuck, hydraulic chuck, electric chuck and mechanical chuck. Structurally, it can be divided into: hollow chuck and medium solid chuck.

In fact, domestic production technology is fully capable of producing high-quality chuck products, but the main problem lies in the large gap between heat treatment and detailed processing and imported chucks. Coupled with the large user base and fierce competition in the domestic market, manufacturers have to control product costs as much as possible and exchange for lower selling prices in exchange for market competitiveness. This has led to some common problems with domestic chucks, such as poor stability, short service life, and short retention time of repeatability. Changzhou Bidefu has made good chucks with great care, and technological reforms have produced high-quality chuck products. The chuck has been upgraded again. Version 2.0 is better to use, has a longer life, and has stronger grip.
