What are the types of indexing chucks?
The indexing chuck uses a belly tower wrench to rotate a bevel gear, which drives a flat rectangular thread, and the three jaws move in a central motion. The pitch of the flat rectangular thread is the same, so the three claws move at the same distance and function as an automatic center. The three-claw disc consists of a large bevel gear, three small bevel gears and three claws. Three small bevel gears mesh with a large bevel gear. The back of the large bevel gear has a plane thread structure, and three claws are evenly installed on the plane thread. When the indexing chuck pulls the small gear with a wrench, the large bevel gear will rotate, and the flat threads on the back will cause the three claws to approach or withdraw from the center at the same time.
Because the four acromions are used to move the four feet respectively, the common four-foot clamps do not play a self-centering role. However, the position of the four legs can be adjusted to clamp various rectangular and irregular workpieces.
When turning a large number of workpieces with an indexing chuck, a soft claw disk can be used during processing to improve the position accuracy of the workpiece and save auxiliary time when installing the workpiece. According to actual needs, in order to change the diameter and shape of the claw arc at any time, the claws soaked in the three-claw plate are replaced with mild steel, copper or aluminum alloy claws. If Chuck's claws were good, he could turn his claws into soft metal.
If the toenail is in one piece, soft metal pieces can be secured to the toenail. The position accuracy of the workpiece can be improved through the claw processing of the soft claw ruler (for example, the new three-claw ruler). The position accuracy of the workpiece after installation is less than 0.01 mm. If the plane thread of the three-claw ruler is seriously worn and the accuracy decreases, after lightly processing it with soft claws, the position accuracy of the workpiece after installation will still remain within 0.05mm. Soft jaw chuck pliers work by working on surfaces or soft metals that don't easily grip surfaces. For thin-walled workpieces, fan-shaped claws can be used to increase the contact area with the workpiece and reduce workpiece deformation. The soft jaw chuck is suitable for semi-parking and parking of workpieces during mass production using the processing surface as the positioning standard. Accurate adjustment and lathe processing of the soft claw ruler are the first conditions to ensure the accuracy of the soft claw ruler. The bottom of the soft claw and the positioning table must match the claw bracket. The workpiece clamping part of the soft claw used for multiple turning is longer (10 ~ 15) MM than the hard claw. The diameter of the turning soft claw is consistent with the diameter of the clamped workpiece, either larger or smaller, and the clamping accuracy cannot be guaranteed. Generally, the turning diameter of the claw is about 0.2mm larger than the diameter of the workpiece. In other words, the diameter of the card's workpiece must be controlled within a specific tolerance range. When turning soft jaws, in order to eliminate gaps, a cylinder or ring of appropriate diameter should be installed inside or outside the jaw. These cylinders or rings must be aligned with the direction in which the workpiece is clamped in the soft jaw mounting position. Otherwise, the position accuracy of the workpiece cannot be guaranteed. When the workpiece is clamped, the cylinder should be clamped inside the claws. When the workpiece is tightened, the ring should be installed outside the claws, and the lathe should be installed outside the soft claws.
