4. After the piston surface is clean, we can visually inspect the carbon deposits on the top surface to see if there is any fault.

However, when the blank is made by free forging, the size and shape of the blank need to be judged:

1. Shape. Generally speaking, if piston rods are produced in small batches, try to choose cylindrical blanks. However, due to different requirements for machining accuracy of different parts, the dimensional tolerance level of forgings needs to be set at level 8-12.

2. Size. Since the blank is free casting, according to the proportion requirements of the piston rod part drawing and the actual processing requirements, the casting size should be set to 62 mm in diameter and 1150 mm in length, then the blank size should be: 80 mm in diameter and 760 mm in length.

However, when turning and grinding, the center holes at both ends must be used as a precise reference for positioning (in line with the principle of unified reference).
