If the three-jaw pneumatic chuck is used incorrectly or with inappropriate lubrication, it is more likely to cause problems. For example, it will not work properly at low pressure, so the power chuck must be lubricated correctly. In addition, the workpiece is heavy, so it is better to use four-claw processing. Just move each of the four claws outward a little. In this way, the distance between the legs is larger than the outer circle of the workpiece. Then place the round workpiece between the four claw feet. At the same time, place 2 nuts on two of the four claws. You can place this nut anywhere, horizontally or vertically. The principle of placing the nut is that the diameter of the round workpiece plus the thickness of the nut is greater than the original distance between the two claws.

Under the influence of the hydraulic oil, it presses the oil cylinder to hold the workpiece, and the two indexing oil cylinders move in reverse direction, pushing the indexing plate to rotate counterclockwise to complete the indexing of the workpiece. Precautions When adjusting, pay attention to the nut of the pad to prevent it from falling. Every 6 months, remove the chuck, disassemble it, clean it (keep the sliding surface of the clamp jaw clean), and lubricate it. If you are cutting cast iron, clean it thoroughly at least once or multiple times every 2 months and check all parts for cracks and wear (replace the severely worn parts immediately). After the inspection is completed, the oil must be fully supplied before assembly.

Immediate improvement of accuracy 1. When replacing the upper claw, it is necessary to clean the toothed part of the base claw and the joint part of the T-type nut, otherwise it will cause inaccuracy in accuracy. When clamping beveled or tapered iron workpieces, the special claws used need to have a toothed clamping surface so that the workpiece is not easily scattered. When clamping an eccentric workpiece, the centrifugal force generated by the eccentric component acts on a single claw, and low speed is required during processing. Before starting the work, do a test run at low speed to check whether the position of the upper claw and the workpiece interferes with the tool and tool holder. When the instrument is parked for a long time, the chuck does not take into consideration the clamping of the workpiece. When improper operation or mechanical failure causes the tool or tool holder to hit the chuck, stop the machine immediately and check whether the upper jaw, base jaw, T-nut, connecting screw and clamping accuracy are normal. The hydraulic pressure required for the use of special height upper claws is lower than that of standard upper claws.

Doing a good job of lubrication can ensure that the lathe chuck still has good accuracy after long-term use. However, incorrect or inappropriate lubrication will cause some problems, such as abnormal function at low pressure, weakened clamping force, poor clamping accuracy, abnormal wear and jamming, so the chuck must be lubricated correctly. After working on the chuck, be sure to use wind or similar tools to clean the chuck body and slide surface. Using anti-rust cutting oil can prevent rust inside the chuck, because rust in the chuck will reduce the clamping force and prevent the workpiece from being held. Apply molybdenum disulfide grease (black in color) at least once a day, and drive the grease into the chuck oil nozzle until the grease overflows the jaw surface or the inner hole of the chuck (the inner hole protective sleeve and the connecting nut).
